BIM-FM

Through a strong relationship with Virginia Tech, scope of services involved developing the BIM-FM data requirements for the Facilities Department. This included identifying the asset groups the client’s would like to track, defining common and specific properties data sets for over 80 asset groups, implementing various industry standards including OmniClass and US CAD standrds in the naming and numbering of the asset groups, and developing the BIM-FM Guidelines and Standards ver. 1.

BIM-FM

In collaboration with the Eller Group, VFC is using a data requirements analysis to identify facility management data needs for Dominion Energy, a large Virginia-based power and energy company. VFC is working closely with the client’s FM staff to assist in defining specifications for their required FM data and propose strategies and specifications for data collection and delivery. VFC will also be responsible for overseeing and monitoring the VDC and BIM-FM contract requirements during the design and construction phases for a new LEED Silver office building scheduled to start in the 3rd quarter of 2017 with an expected completion date at the end of 2019.

Scope of services will include coordination and communication of VDC and BIM-FM requirements to project stakeholders, monitoring of BIM coordination process, overseeing BIM-FM data capture, quality control of data delivered, and assisting in testing and implementing direct link of facility data to the client’s facility management system (CMMS).
