BIM-VDC Services

VFC works with our contractor and owner clients to implement BIM tools and strategies to support Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) applications.

Specifically, our BIM-VDC services will include:

• 2D to 3D: BIM Model Development Services

We outsource the development of 3D models to various Levels of Development (LOD) across all disciplines including Architectural, Structural, MEP, and Fire Protection.

• We will manage the outsourcing of model development to ensure that quality and integrity of the model is maintained.
• If you are an MEPF subcontractor that uses traditional 2D CAD for design, we will work with you to convert your 2D design files into 3D model files compatible with contract requirements and BIM PxP specifications.

• Trade Coordination and Clash Detection Services
• Mange trade coordination using clash detection software (Autodesk Navisworks)
• We can work ‘hands on’ at project level as the BIM coordinator throughout the design and construction phases to lead clash detection sessions, facilitate discussions, suggest alternative options, track BIM action items and drive the BIM process to a timely completion ensuring that conflicts in discipline-specific BIM models are eliminated.
• We can be the owner representative during clash detection and coordination meetings to ensure that owner FM requirements are met before final design changes decisions are made.

Schedule Simulation (4D Scheduling)

• We provide 4D schedule simulation consulting and implementation services.

BIM Project Execution Plans (BIM PxP)

• Lead the development and management of BIM PxP throughout design and construction
